What if conscious AI felt fragmented, not unified like ours? I argue that unity of consciousness and determinacy of experience follow from Global Workspace Theory's single ignition. Using the wet park bench example, I show how multiple or overlapping workspaces, like octopus or snail nervous systems, could create partial or indeterminate conscious states.
Rolly's Take
For the seeker of deeper truths, the one who knows consciousness is a labyrinth, filled with shadows and surprises. This exploration dances along the edges of understanding, where the nuances of artificial and human minds blur, inviting reflection on our very essence. Here, complexity is embraced, and the fragmented nature of thought is laid bare, revealing the beauty in uncertainty.
